Nam June Paik often brought to his drawings alphabets and letters jumbling up Chinese, Korean and English. This calligraphic work contains strongly cursive writing. What is notable are such words as ‘love,’ ‘everyday,’ especially the first word ‘amor fati’ in Chinese characters 運命愛. Part of Nietzsche’s philosophy, this means that the love of fate is more than just accepting it with resignation but affirming and absorbing it as self, and you have to love and pioneer your fate to cultivate creativity. Interestingly, he added “AI” in English next to 愛, to love.
