There are vertical and horizontal layers of color lines, a little bit smudged, in the background, which seem like TV scanning lines or noise signals. A loose rectangular form is outlined in black over them, and as if scratched, white short lines come in sight to make the whole image constitute Nam June Paik’s typical personified television having the eyes, nose and mouth. What looks like an antenna protrudes from the upper-right edge of the TV monitor. Using the simplified form of a television with an antenna, Paik produced quite a few TV drawings. This calls attention not to the broadcast content but to formal qualities of television, to the media as a material object.
