This is addressed to “Gyeonggi Governor Lim, from Suwon Paik’s, Nam June Paik.” The project to build an art museum of Nam June Paik began when Chang-yeol Lim, the then governor of Gyeonggi Province, came to New York to visit Paik in 1999. And in 2002, Governor Lim and Kyu-seh Lee, a chairman of the provincial assembly came to New York again to discuss details of acquisition, exhibition and preservation of his works, and they entered into a MOU with him to drive this project in full swing. This drawing produced in the same year contains Paik’s typical motifs of a sun-like flower and vehicles.
