What Nam June Paik wrote is a list of names or pseudonyms of such Korean literary giants as Eun-sang Lee, Woon-hyung Lyuh, Jong-hwa Park, Tae-jun Lee, Kwang-su Yi, Ji-yong Jeong, Sowol Kim. In the middle are fourteen consonants of Hangul, the Korean alphabet, and in between, four Chinese characters meaning the Buddhist Elysium in light blue, and below, basic characters of Hangul in orange. The rest part of the characters are Chinese four-character idioms. 女慕貞烈 男效才良: Women should model themselves after those right-hearted and strong-willed, and men after those talented and good-natured. 空谷傳聲 虛堂習聽: As an empty valley sends out an echo, an empty house resounds into the outside world. 推位讓國: A throne is handed over, and the country is given up on. 弔民伐罪 周發殷湯: Who consoled the people in greatest distress and who disclosed and punished the guilt of tyrants tormenting the people are King Bal of the Zhou dynasty and King Tang of the Yin dynasty.
