In this female body, there are no facial features, and instead the middle part formed by the chest, navel and genitals is depicted as if having ears, eyes and mouth. Nam June Paik often drew female nudes, but with a witty sense to render a furtive subject in a vivacious way. Over the waves of the sea where a boat is afloat at the bottom of the drawing is “Hamptons.” The Hamptons is the seaside on eastern Long Island’s South Fork, one of the summer destinations for the affluent New Yorkers.
