This drawing contains flowers and a train, to which Nam June Paik added “M Track” implying Amtrak, the US national railway service, and the names of regions showing that the train connects New York, Chicago and Santa Fe, and the number of flowers, specifically 100. A fence-like form, and the puffing out train running in parallel, and flowers put together look like design patterns. The vehicles that are one of the frequently used motifs in Paik’s drawings, recall the fact that Paik often drew an analogy between communication and transportation.
