Peter Brötzmann is an internationally acclaimed German jazz saxophonist, well-known for his performances of improvisation. He trained in visual art in Wuppertal, but self-taught on clarinet and saxophone, he gradually moved on to the field of music and began a career of a full-scale musician by producing the recording of “For Adolphe Sax” in 1967. In the 1960s, he took part in the Fluxus movement, and assisted Paik in 1963 with exhibitions in Wuppertal and in Amsterdam.
Brötzmann has staged many performances, both solo and collaborative with other prominent musicians all over the world. In Nam June Paik Art Center, his special concert ‘No Nothing’ will show the quintessence of his improvised music.
